“Bringing Together Global Wisdom to Promote High-Quality Development”: Successful Conclusion of the 2022 4th International Academic Exchange Conference on Science and Technology Innovation (IAECST 2022)

On December 10, the International Academic Exchange Conference on Science and Technology Innovation (IAECST 2022), in conjunction with the Inaugural Meeting of IEEE PES SBLC Satellite Committee (China), was successfully held online. The conference witnessed the virtual attendance of over 300 distinguished experts and scholars from renowned universities and research institutions both domestically and internationally. It racked up a cumulative participation of more than 20,000 participants who attended the event through the AiScholar platform’s live stream, engaging in a “cloud conference” experience.

IAECST 2022 was co-hosted by the IEEE PES SBLC Satellite Committee (China), Chongqing University, South China University of Technology, Dalian Jiaotong University, Chongqing University of Technology, Chongqing Jiaotong University, Shenyang Ligong University, East China Jiaotong University, and Guangdong AiScholar Institute of Academic Exchange.

Embracing the theme “bringing together global wisdom to promote high-quality academic development,” this conference featured five major sub-venues covering a diverse range of academic disciplines, including mechanical engineering, economic innovation and development, information technology, new energy, as well as communication, information systems, and software engineering. Leading experts and prominent figures from both domestic and international research communities were invited to deliver keynote speeches. The conference also facilitated exchanges and discussions through various formats, such as thematic presentations, live Q&A sessions, and open interactions.

Academic Luminaries Fueling the Spirit of Innovation

At the opening ceremony, academic luminaries delivered speeches to set the stage for the IAECST 2022. The speakers included Prof. Jian Li, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Chongqing University; Prof. Yining Zhang from South China University of Technology, Vice Chair of the IEEE PES China Chapter Council (PCCC); and Prof. Jizhong Zhu hailed from South China University of Technology, Chair of the IEEE PES SBLC Satellite Committee (China), IEEE Fellow, and a recipient of Overseas High-Level Talent Recruitment Programs.

Prof. Jian Li, on behalf of Chongqing University, extended congratulations on the successful convening of the conference. He highlighted that science and technology are pivotal to a nation’s strength, while innovation serves as the core of its progress. He expressed his aspiration that this conference would establish a platform for academic exchange that transcends borders and disciplines, fostering discussions on cutting-edge innovations and the latest scientific achievements.

Speech by Prof. Jian Li

Prof. Yining Zhang remarked that since its inception in 2021, IEEE PES SBLC (China) has been dedicated to building a robust platform for academic exchange and international cooperation under the guidance of IEEE PES. He believes that through the concerted efforts of the research community, IEEE PES SBLC (China) can enhance the coordination between industries, integrate diverse resources, and create mutually beneficial outcomes.

Speech by Prof. Yining Zhang

Prof. Jizhong Zhu emphasized the critical role of academic exchange in fostering scientific and technological innovation and accelerating the transformation of scientific knowledge into productive capacity. He noted that international academic conferences significantly contribute to scientific and technological advancement along with societal development. The goal of this conference is to empower scientific and technological innovation and spur new developments in science and technology. Prof. Zhu expressed his confidence that researchers would collaborate to propel China’s scientific and technological innovation and social progress. He also envisions IEEE PES SBLC (China) in 2023 continuing to ignite the creativity of scientists, establishing an international platform that is professional, broad in scope, and at the forefront of excellence.

Speech by Prof. Jizhong Zhu

Following the opening speeches, several distinguished professors announced the recipients of the Outstanding Paper Awards for IAECST 2022. These announcements were made by Prof. Jizhong Zhu from South China University of Technology, Prof. Huajun Dong from Dalian Jiaotong University, Prof. Fan Zhou from Shenyang Ligong University, and Prof. Yuanchang Zhong from Chongqing University. The awards aim to inspire the next generation of researchers to continuously enhance their innovative capabilities and academic excellence, promoting the spirit of innovation through scholarly exchange. Alongside the award-winning papers, the conference featured the display of 65 academic posters, showcasing the latest research findings of participating scholars.

Five Sub-Venues: Unveiling Diverse Academic Achievements Across Multiple Fields

Following the commendation of outstanding papers, the conference unfolded into five sub-venues, each dedicated to a specific academic discipline: The International Conference on New Energy System and Electrical Engineering (NESEE 2022), The International Conference on Information Technology and Computer Application (ITCA 2022), The International Conference on Communications, Information System, and Software Engineering (CISSE 2022), The International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Automation (MEA 2022), and The Management Science Informatization and Economic Innovation Development Conference(MSIEID 2022)

The conference pooled nearly a hundred experts and scholars from around the world to deliver keynote and academic presentations. These experts shared cutting-edge academic achievements, catalyzing the transformation of research outcomes and the aggregation of talent, technology, and intellectual capital. This empowered the development of international innovation in science and technology.
